How do I compare prices?
|
When obtaining estimates for your sign project, it is often very difficult for many first time sign buyers to differentiate between what each company offers. You must be sure you are comparing “apples to apples”, which is difficult to determine by a non-technical person looking as specs. We all understand that pricing is the important determinant in purchasing a sign, but we also suggest that before you contract a sign company’s services, you first take a few minutes to research the following important items:
State Licensed: Make sure the company is licensed by The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) as a current Electrical Sign Contractor in good standing. Giant Sign is a licensed Electrical Sign Contractor (TSCL#18434) with TDLR. |

Master Electrician: Make sure that the company has a Master Electrician on staff. A legitimate company will have an “in-house” Master Electrician or Master Sign Electrician on staff. Giant Sign has an “in-house” Master Sign Electrician.

UL Listing: Make sure that the company you pick will manufacture your signs to UL specifications. This ensures that your sign is safe and it also helps meet with most local City Ordinances. Giant Sign manufactures most of our signs to UL standards and specification. These signs will bear the UL label as required.

|

Warranty: Ask about the warranty and get it in writing. Make sure that companies don’t fool you with warranties on “materials’ only and not on the labor. Giant Sign will provide a full 1 year warranty from installation date on all outdoor/electrical signs we fabricate and install unless specified otherwise (please read our contractual terms which does not include breakage from vandalism nor strong storms which generate conditions beyond listed safety standards).

Manufacturing: Make sure that you are buying the sign from a manufacturer to ensure project control and pricing isn’t diluted by a middle man.

Insurance: Make sure that the sign company is insured and can provide a Certificate of Liability, if requested by the City or Landlord.
